In these challenging times, we all have felt the effects of COVID. For three months, our library building remained shuttered. However, we adapted, and managed to produce some excellent YouTube videos and created programming via Facebook Live and Zoom. We also supported our staff by continuing to pay them, even though they could not enter the building, greet patrons and manage the daily life of a small village library. We applied for PPP loans to cover their salaries, but we are now facing an even bigger crisis, a cut in funding from State, County and Township governments as revenues have fallen drastically. Libraries are typically the quickest programs to be cut during budget crises, and next year will be no exception.
